Founding Engineer (Infrastructure)
Senibina makes Enjin. We want more people to have access to computational design, and to carry their work from the first idea towards buildings, interiors and places that can be built. Enjin is in private alpha. We work with the software practices already use.
We are looking to meet an infrastructure engineer who understands design and BIM practice. You would work alongside our Technical Founder, whose background is in architectural technology and project delivery.
The work
When someone asks Enjin for a change, it builds a model in the cloud and checks it. Next, we want teams to compare several options of the same idea at once. You would help us build the infrastructure for that work.
- Scale the cloud machines that build models and keep them healthy under real load.
- Improve job queues and recovery when work runs slowly or fails halfway through.
- Keep each practice’s files and work separate and secure.
- Measure the cost of model generation and find ways to bring it down.
- Look after deployments, monitoring and incident response.
- Sit with practice teams, watch how they use Enjin and turn what you learn into fixes.
What you bring
- Experience running production systems on Azure, AWS or Google Cloud, including machines, networking, sign-in, permissions and costs.
- Experience with long-running jobs that hold state and can fail partway through.
- Hands-on familiarity with design and BIM software such as Rhino, SketchUp, AutoCAD and Revit, and how work moves between them.
- Experience with Grasshopper, Dynamo, scripts or plug-ins for design software.
- An understanding of BIM as the information a model carries, including properties, quantities and decisions.
- Curiosity about AI, geometry and the problems architects, designers and property teams encounter in practice.
We are small. Some days you will work on compute, others with a practice team. Your advice will shape how we build Enjin.
Let’s talk
